Neil Lappley is the founder and leads the compensation consulting practice of Lappley & Associates. He has worked as a compensation and human resources consultant for over thirty years and has comprehensive experience in development of compensation delivery programs, including executive compensation, salary management, salesforce compensation, all-employee incentive, board of director pay, market pricing and custom surveys.
He has advised a wide range of clients including manufacturing, industrial, consumer, service, and technology organizations. Clients are both public and private and include for-profit and not-for-profit corporations. He has counseled multinational clients at the corporate and subsidiary levels headquartered in North American and Europe.
Prior to forming Lappley & Associates, Neil was a partner and managing director of the Hay Group’s Chicago office. Previously, he was an internal consultant with Mead Corporation and A.O. Smith. He earned Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Neil has written and spoken extensively to executive, compensation and human resource groups on a variety of compensation topics.
Virginia Dimond has more than thirty years’ experience in compensation consulting. Her experience includes the design, implementation and ongoing administration of salary administration systems; the establishment of performance management systems and the training of management and employees in their use; and the development and assessment of management and other incentive programs.
Ginny has served a variety of clients, ranging from those with fewer than one hundred employees to Fortune 500 companies. Clients include manufacturing, financial services, wholesale trade, health care and nonprofit organizations. With Lappley & Associates, she often conducts market-pricing studies and develops and administers custom surveys.
Prior to 1987, Ginny was a Vice President with Alexander & Alexander, a Senior Consultant with Coopers & Lybrand and a Consultant with Towers, Perrin, Forster & Crosby. Work at these firms included directing a wide variety of compensation projects including development of a job evaluation system for exempt and nonexempt employees at a hospital, assessing the compensation structure for a major municipality and establishing a salary administration program for a large railway. She received her B.S. Degree in Psychology and M.S. in Personnel/Industrial Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana. She has taught courses in compensation for the Business School of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Rich Sperling formed Sperling HR, LLC, in 2009 after 30 years in human resources and consulting. Before establishing Sperling HR, Rich was a Senior Consultant at Hay Group.
He works with clients to build jobs and organizations that support and enable achievement of their business strategies and objectives. Rich provides expert consulting services in job families, role design and relationships, span of control management, and reward program design and management.
Rich holds a Master of Management degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University. He is a frequent author and speaker on jobs, organization, and rewards.
